A theory which actually seems very possible from the available evidence.

Tolkien specifically states that 1/3 of the dwarvish population are women in the appendices of LOTR. Beyond that, asexual doesn't mean no gender. There's an argument to be made that a large portion of the dwarven population are asexual, but that doesn't mean that there are no dwarven women.

I voted that they likely had beards.

Now I haven't reviewed everything Tolkein wrote down on this subject but my understanding is that Tolkein dwarf females have beards.
