Wait... Denmark gets to play all their games in Copenhagen? There's no home and away games?

No such thing as home and away games in these kind of tournaments. Spain also plays its three group stage games in Seville, same with Germany in Munich, Italy in Rome, etc.

Germany has a poor team right now, not comparable to the 2006-2016 era. I don't expect much.

Let's preserve this ahead of the inevitable German victory.  :P

Now seriously, I'd say that France have to be the favourites.

Seems unfair, but I'll take it.

It's a very weird format with venues all over the continent and no "host" nation per se. I doubt it'll ever be repeated.

Rescuing this from page 2, we're obviously all very excited

Well, teams are still being announced, and I guess most people is still in "end of the season" mood, with the CL final last saturday.  :P

The friendlies to prepare for the Euro start later this week, right?

OTOH, it starts June 11th, not today.   :nerd:

So there is still time to complete your Panini album.  :P

Some teams such as Sweden and Finland, already started.

Same for us. Aging stars and a group of decent young footballers, but nothing else.

I just checked and Spain plays its first friendly against Portugal this friday.

I had in the back of my mind the idea that Spain was playing Croatia this week (in fact it is today), but it's for the U-21 Euro championship, which goes straight for the knockout stage as they already played the group stage back in March.

While I don't think that we're favourites at all (those are France and Portugal, IMO), I think people are being far too low on the Spanish team. We're a sold 2nd tier team at the moment, I'd say. We should get to the QF with no major issue, and then it'd depend on who we'll face.

Problem for the Selecção is there is a lack of options for central backs, only 3 with 2 retiring soon i.e Pepe and Fonte. Ruben Dias is very good but the only possible option is a 6, Danilo.

Goalkeeper is fine, as in 2016.
Coach has not yet managed to have a consistent midfield and attack with so many options, with Fernandes underperforming in the national squad, and burn out after playing so many games this season, and Félix not yet fully integrated. There is a 9, André Silva, but he lost quite a bit of traction he had with Ronaldo since his failed season at Milan. Speaking of Ronaldo, there is always the question of the team playing for Ronaldo or the opposite. ;) Where does he play with so many attacking options, namely.

By the way, whoever came up with the "4 of the best 3rd placed teams qualify for the knockout round" system deserves to be flogged. There's no way to do a proper speculative bracket this time.

That's how World Cups used to be from 1986 on. Of course Euros at the time had 2 x 4 teams. Not a fan of the participant inflation in recent years.
