We've got some nice spring weather coming up, and those longer evenings should help, too.

Yes, those are going to help many of us.  :bowler:

Not those who are going into full lockdown again.

Sprint lockdown was far better than winter lockdown.

Yes - and the combination of the clocks going forward and the sun today have made the last couple of days noticeably better.

When it's winter, not going outside is not that sorely missed.

You can still be outside, in gardens or on balconies.

... if one has a place with such amenities. -_-

You don't have any outside space, at all? That's required by law here.

Not here. My building has an inner courtyard but that's all stone and a tree, and certainly not inviting to sit outside. :D

Don't you have one of those VR things? Get creative man  :P

Exactly, get creative.  Buy a ton of potting soil and make your living room into a lawn.

So with vaccinations starting to really ramp up, and most places in the US offering adults vaccines, we are talking about what we should do with the office at work.

It is currently costing us about $70,000/year for the space. We don't really use it at all right now.

Nobody really wants to go back to being in the office full time, but most people do want to go back to some kind of office environment.

But several employees have stated that if they go back to the office, they want to be assured that everyone else in the office has been vaccinated.

This is something of a problem. Our management position is

1. If you do not want to get vaccinated, that is your business. But if that is the case, please continue to work from home.
2. If you want to come into the office, only do so if you are comfortable with whatever reality that exists.
3. We cannot, legally, ask anyone if they have been vaccinated, so far as I am aware. HIPAA laws still prohibit that.

So how can we even tell anyone that everyone else in the office has been vaccinated? We can tell people to not come in if they have not, but we cannot actually check, or even ask, so far as I know. So how can I tell employee A that employee B has or has not been vaccinated? All I can say is that we have asked people to not come in if they are not vaccinated...but I can't stop anyone from pretty much doing whatever they like.

crazy canuck

Try to avoid focusing on vaccinations, rather assume that everyone, even if vaccinated, is a potential carrier and follow your local health guidelines as to what protocols you should put in place.  We have a long way to go before we approach herd immunity.  That is when the protocols won't be needed, and of course the concerns being expressed won't be relevant.
