One of my friends in my boardgaming group (we've been playing remotely since March) is down with Covid. His brother got it, they met during the holidays and now the whole family has tested positive.

My company partners with senior living communities, and last week in a meeting one of our partners reported that slightly over half of their workers based in senior living communities are resisting being vaccinated, either because they think the vaccine is unsafe or because they believe it's an infringement on their freedom to be forced to be vaccinated in order to go to work.

So now I know a couple of people who have lost relatives. A neighbor's uncle and a co-worker's relative. I think those are the first Covid deaths I've heard about from people close to me.
