Is anyone else getting hypochondria?

This sort throat that has been bothering me on and off for a while...
And...feels cold....
And I had a headache....

Usually not prone to it, but in the past couple of weeks... maybe a tiny bit.  Temperature has been normal the whole time, though.

With my Crohn's I periodically get some flu-like symptoms every now & then, plus I suspect seasonal allergies are creeping in as I get older.

Yeah, I got mildly paranoid when my youngest came down with a cough and mild fever a week ago. -_- He's fine now. We've tested almost a thousand children here and only found a handful of cases. And they had very mild symptoms.

A reliable source.....ahem, has informed me that Pornhub has made premium content free, worldwide.

So if you can't follow your plan to become an expert home baker because of the flour and yeast hoarding, perhaps you could improve your skills in other areas of, er interest.

My company announced that we will go to a short work scheme for two weeks in April. The state then pays a considerable part of the wages/salaries, but our net income goes to about 80% of our normal net income.

We have a similar set up here.  Lots of employers are looking to do that so they don't have to lay everyone off.

We received a notice that our pay freeze is being continued into 2021 (now into it's fifth year!).

Thankfully GOA has not laid anyone off, everyone continues to get full pay.  Problem is though we've lost a good chunk of income from my wife.  My wife does (or did) before and after school care for up to 8 kids.  She doesn't charge a ton but it all adds up.  Plus we received a stipend for our exchange student, and she just went home today.  At first I thought we might earn more if we were looking after a bunch of kids for full days, but wasn't sure what to charge because we didn't want to gouge.  But no - with people working from home all the kids are staying home.

I'm not complaining - I know I have it better than many, but it still hurts.

Oh by the way, the price of oil is usually quoted for West Texas or Brent Sea - those are trading at $23 and $29 respectively.  A barrel of Western Canada Select is today trading for $9. (Pipelines - the answer is pipelines)  Earlier this week I think it was down to $7.  Because some companies structurally can't not shut down production for various technical reasons it wouldn't shock me for the price to go briefly negative.

I wonder why Saudi Arabian Light Sweet stopped being used as a benchmark.

Yeah we thought we had ample yeast but they seem to be going dry. Probably need to a shop run just for that as they had none for our click and collect

Mery mentioned it already but here's a link : https://www.wikihow.com/Grow-Yeast

Yeah thanks, but my wife is not only a biochemist but also did a university course (!!!) on bread-making, so she is aware of alternative options. :)

Holy shit, went into the Waitrose on the way home this evening and picked* up the holy trinity:

Toilet rolls.
Bread flour.
And yeast.   :gasp:

*none of it for me, but a realitve who can't leave the house.

Maybe it turned into the modern Saudi Arabian Light, which is sour (high sulfur).

Flour and yeast are also mostly gone in German supermarkets,  although flour is coming back. Some really strange product categories were sold out when I went shopping yesterday: all trash bags (looked for biodegradable), fresh cooled juices and smoothies (the cheaper stuff was available), natural yoghurt, frozen fish (specifically salmon), my favorite chocolate (Ritter Sport) etc.

If you can snag a small bit of this, you can make your own yogurt at home with milk and a crockpot. :)

He wasn't there again today
