Oh wow, so she actually worked in Hazbin Hotel? No wonder I found the style so similar!

She did indeed!

Apparently, fan made animation is a small world ...

Btw, this is the music video that led me to that one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrwT3bhRz8M

It's a similar cute-dark style, but more Tex Avery-ish. It's actually an official music video for a British electro-swing band.

I have - seeing everyone else is working with tablets, I kinda feel like that person who insists on writing with a pen when everyone else is using word processors. 😄

One day, I will give it a try.

I like it! I've never seen this one.

Reminds me a lot of the old Fliesher Studios animation - the woman is a nod to Betty Boop.

Yeah, it has this 1930s feel, at times it also reminds me of early Disney, don't know if it's the design of the wolf, the animal musicians or what...

For some reason, the latest card is doing well on Instagram - already up to 8K.

Woah, neatly a year since an art posting. I kinda fell into an art block for a while - just didn't feel up to drawing.

Had an idea the other day - see if anyone can guess what this is fan art from:

Very nice.

No idea of the inspiration, other than maybe I've seen it in the national portrait museum?

It's actually a kind of double fan art ... a character in an animated series I watch had a portrait of herself over her bed, as herself as Ophelia. That was as it were fan art for a famous 19th century  portrait of Ophelia:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophelia_(painting)

The show is Bojack Horseman (and the character's portrayal of herself as Ophelia is pretty hefty foreshadowing of her fate).

Star vs the forces of evil?

Good guess - but it was Bojack Horseman. An animated series for adults I highly recommend.

I saw the image when you posted it, and I recognized the homage to the famous Ophelia painting by Millais. Having now watched BoJack Horseman, I fully get it.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.
