Quote from: Grey Fox on January 27, 2026, 03:40:26 PMI blame Meta and it's ad business. Everything on the web is about creating engagement because that generates revenue.

I use these 3 extensions: privacy badger, ublock origin, adblocker ultimate. I don't think I've seen an ad, on any website, in a decade.

You're the exception. My nephew has a quite licrative business creating content for others so they can extract revenue out of engagement and ads on TikTok and Instagram.

"But I didn't vote for him"; they cried.

Colour me sceptical. The essence of the far right is to close ranks behind a leader like the good cowardly submissives they are.
I'm skeptical as well, and they've had many cases of dissent only to quickly get on the same script.  That said, guns are a very visceral issue, there is a lot of (mostly irrational) fear there.  Fear of losing gun rights is real, and it's not lost on that crowd that Trump and all his top officials are essentially repealing the second amendment with their comments about the shooting.  Fear is the most powerful emotion, and while usually it's employed to keep the far right together, in this case it could drive a real wedge within their ranks.
