What does a TRUMP presidency look like?

Quote from: grumbler on December 23, 2025, 01:16:50 PMThe "Trump Class" is so obviously vaporwear that I am surprised even someone as dumb as Hegseth would let Trump trot that absurdity out. It features what would likely be a $20B cost, includes weapons that don't work or don't even exist, and would require a massive investment in building docks to be able to make anything that big without cancelling all the carrier builds and overhauls.  And that's not even mentioning the USN's complete incompetence in ship design that has built four failure classes in a row and hasn't developed a successful warship design since 1987.

Trump's pathological narcissism gets worse by the day.

Thanks for that, I suspected this would be the case but it is always good to get confirmation from a qualified source.

Crazy_Ivan80

That the US voted for this nonsense is just... dumbest timeline.

He has real doctors hand writing but this is a letter epstein wrote to a fellow sex offender. Note the bit in the bottom right....

It appears to be a fake. That is not helping things, at all.

Indeed...it made me immediately suspicious on the grounds of being "too good to be true".

Also fits the DoJ would filter out some fake chaff so that Trump can say plausibly say "this is all fake" (including that earlier birthday card, etc.)

It might work...

How exactly would a fake document get into the files?  How do they know it is fake?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

The date is off, being three days after his death. The handwriting looks different.
The postmark on the envelope is Virginia, not New York. The return address is the wrong jail.
But mostly as Tonitrus said, too good to be true.

Josquius

That raises more questions then if its clearly a fake to those who know post marks and are interested in the case.
And then how did it get in the files.

Though yes. I'm convinced intentionally sowing fake anti Trump stuff is a maga tactic

The Trump team really took some lessons on russian tactics. This is exactly the discourse they want ppl to be having.

I saw it posted by someone reliable. There are articles out there talking about it on legit sites like the bbc.

IIRC the department of justice said its actually fake and they are going to remove it.

With the amount of docs and the focus on ctrl-F-ing on "Trump" before the publish deadline, I can give them the benefit of the doubt that no investigator since the initial collection of these files had noticed somebody somehow slipped this fake one into the pile, but it also fits perfectly the agenda of just discrediting everything that's in there, in case a page with Trump on it somehow slips through or gets leaked.

mongers

Why are people still capitalizing trump, does he deserve even that amount of respect?

Incidentally had to cancel my WP sub, as pretty much every other article involves trump.

QuoteBerlin denounces US sanctions against German anti-hate speech group
DPA
Wed, December 24, 2025 at 12:10 PM GMT+1

The German government on Wednesday denounced sanctions imposed by the United States against the heads of HateAid, a German organization that supports victims of online hate.

The Trump administration on Tuesday imposed entry bans on HateAid's managing directors, Josephine Ballon and Anna-Lena von Hodenberg, and three other Europeans, accusing them of censorship of US-based online platforms.

HateAid, founded in 2018, is regarded as Germany's first nationwide counselling centre for people affected by online abuse. Von Hodenberg was awarded Germany's Federal Order of Merit in October in recognition of her work against digital violence.

"HateAid supports victims of unlawful digital hate speech. The organization makes an important contribution to ensuring that personal rights are protected in the digital sphere," German Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig said.

"Anyone who calls this censorship is misrepresenting our constitutional system," she added.

Hubig stressed that HateAid supports victims but cannot itself ban expressions of opinion.

"The rules by which we want to live in the digital sphere in Germany and Europe are not decided in Washington," Hubig said.

In a jab at big US tech firms, she added that the measures taken by Washington "show that civil society engagement is inconvenient for powerful platforms."

The managing directors of HateAid "have our support and solidarity," she said.

Ballon and von Hodenberg called the US decision an "act of repression."

The entry ban also targetted former French EU commissioner Thierry Breton, one of the architects of the EU's Digital Services Act, legislation that regulates online platforms.

Imran Ahmed, founder of the Center for Countering Digital Hate US/UK, and Clare Melford, founder of the UK-based Global Disinformation Index, were also sanctioned.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul criticized the US entry bans as unacceptable. Referring to the Digital Services Act, Wadephul said the legislation ensures that "anything illegal offline is also illegal online."

The Digital Services Act was democratically adopted by the European Union for application within the bloc and does not have extraterritorial effect, Wadephul wrote on X.

Differing views should be addressed through "trans-Atlantic dialogue in order to strengthen the partnership," he added.

Yes, thanks Grumbler.

It's amusing that Trump wants both a Nobel Peace Prize as well as a class of battleship named after him.  Trump is obviously trying to build a legacy with this term, (the new East Wing, the Trump-Kennedy Center, The Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace, Trump Accounts, The Trump Gold Card.)  It's hard not to think:

My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

Every time he announces a new one.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock
