I'm not surprised about Elon's reaction at all. He's continuously demonstrated that he is extremely thin skinned, vindictive, and thinks he should be able to do and say whatever he wants. I don't see why that should change just because he has beef with Trump.

I mean his whole business model depends on him having great relationships with the Feds. The Democrats will just bend over to whomever so he could freely shit on Biden and the Dems and be fine. But lashing out at the petty vindictive Donald Trump? Especially when his business is electric vehicles and space exploration?

Granted he was already stupid enough to alienate the vast majority of potential EV customers.

Like the entire universe, I knew the Musk/Trump alliance wouldn't last.

But I didn't think Musk was so fucking stupid to think he could go to war with Trump.

Richest man in the world is one thing - but POTUS is another.  Not to mention how much Musk's businesses depend on the US Government.

I mean... Trump has more form than Elon - he's been getting away with more, for longer. And the machinery of the American State is powerful, especially if wielded effectively (an open question for Trump).

On the flipside, Trump may entering dementia and is likely going to age out soon as Musk suggests. Musk will (probably be rich influential for quite a while, which might influence long term thinkers. Additionally, Trump's other billionaire backers may get spooked if he goes too hard on Elon (maybe, if it matters). And, of course, Musk has Twitter.
