But he was not finally pardoned, was he?

Why would Trump pardon his only serious rival for the Presidency?

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Hasn't Hungary's Ball-of-Light status been revoked yet? :hmm:

Also, knowing that the UK has to know that they're glass house isn't even double-glazed, I would just chalk that up as general British cynicism.  :P

I have a feeling the more likely you are to speak English the more likely you are to believe the US government is broken.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Wouldn't have made the joke otherwise.

Most surprising name: no, not Steve Bannon (though I predicted he wouldn't be) but fucking Kwame Kilpatrick.

Sav should be delighted to see Detroit's favorite son finally set free.

<_<

Trump did commute Blagojevich's sentence earlier, so I'm not surprised.  Fortunately Kwame can't run for public office in Michigan until twenty years after the date of his conviction (2032).
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Trump is pro-corruption more than he is pro-GOP, it's just there were very few opportunities to tell the difference.
