Just read up on them. Are they sure they are associating themselves with the right party?

They were kind of interesting (and at the same sort of time as we had Red Tories who have survived a lot better - largely by not accidentally emulating fascist regimes). Basically post-liberal left so more socially conservative, patriotic, suspicious of the atomising effect of the modern/centralised welfare state v community/regional models, big fan of worker control and cooperatives that sort of strand of left(ish?) thinking.

Just read up on them. Are they sure they are associating themselves with the right party? 

This was a common criticism. I think some of their communitarian/post-liberal stuff around local ownership is interesting. It's not what they focused on

Wait, he is saying the many of the Western States are self reliant?  Wyoming is broke, with no real income, and basically no plan to change this...

They do depend on Federal monies coming in though...so I guess the ARE reliant...

They think climate change and the pandemic are not real.  It is asking way too much to ask them to critically consider their mythos of rugged individualism.

Rittenhaus is facing state charges,* so Trump's pardon will have no effect. Of course, that doesn't mean Trump won't try to pardon him.

* I believe he could be charged with a federal crime of transporting a gun across state lines or something, but was not charged with that.

I believe he can pardon entire categories of people.  Carter pardoned the Vietnam War draft dodgers for example.

I don't think he wants to do that because he doesn't want to pardon whomever killed that cop, or the neo-nazis.
