What does a TRUMP presidency look like?

QuoteTrump boasted to Woodward about a new secret weapons system. "I have built a nuclear — a weapons system that nobody's ever had in this country before," Trump said. Woodward says other sources confirmed the information, without providing further details, but expressed surprise that Trump disclosed it.

Indeed it is surprising. AFAIK Woodward isn't with Russian intelligence.

QuoteWoodward writes that Coats "continued to harbor the secret belief, one that had grown rather than lessened, although unsupported by intelligence proof, that Putin had something on Trump." Woodward continues, writing that Coats felt, "How else to explain the president's behavior? Coats could see no other explanation."

Oh, honey. All the crazies love and adore Putin. There is no great mystery here.

Women want me. Men want to be with me.

None of the Languish crazies have expressed that love.

It's the love that dare not speak its name.

Thanks Woodward, for that stunning insight!

Yes, that has been noticed by the relevant authorities.

Surprised that Trump gave him such access, knowing the book would be hostile.

Trump's egotism almost always outvotes his self-interest.  That's one of the reasons he always goes bankrupt (financially and morally).
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

Knowing the book would be hostile he gave Woodward access in the hope that it would allow him a voice and shape the narrative.  Trump is too incompetent to know how incompetent he is.

Good thing Putin is not hostile to Trump, I'd hate to think what Trump would blab to Putin if that were the case.

The Minsky Moment

As bad as the Woodward revelations are - and they are Nixon level bad - even worse is the story at DHS about intel being suppressed or doctored either to please the President or to create a false record of country conditions that ICE officers and courts use in making asylum determinations.

I have seen fortunate son played as a patriotic song before.

'Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they're red, white and blue'

And that's the whole song. No other lyrics and that was meant unironically.

It's really weird.
Quote"This is a Russian warship. I propose you lay down arms and surrender to avoid bloodshed & unnecessary victims. Otherwise, you'll be bombed."

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

Reagan used to play "Born in the USA" in his events, so people only listening to a song's refrain is not a new thing.

And let's never forget that Paul Ryan claimed that his favourite band was Rage Against the Machine.

IIRC Ryan was aware that the band's viewpoint and lyrics were not consistent with his own views, he said he just liked the music.  Nothing wrong with that, it's like Jews listening to Wagner or R.Strauss or the St. Matthew's Passion
