Back when I listened to right wing talk radio on a regular basis I was shocked somebody as stupid as Sean Hannity could be successful. He was so obviously mentally subpar compared to Limbaugh and O'Reilly I just didn't get it.

That's why he's so successful, though.  He's no smarter than his audience.

One thing we have to realize is that propaganda is at its most effective not when you cleverly trick people, but when you program them to actively and constantly trick themselves.  Once you do that, you just have to continuously feed them mindless talking points, and they'll take it from there.

He is one of those guys who thinks money and corruption deserves the same protections as speech so not really my kind of guy

But how radical is he in other aspects? My understanding is not too terribly radical so hopefully he will do a decent job.
