The US.
A country famous for over the top nationalist flag waving America fuck yeah sort of stuff.
You'd think this would be their time.

And the main image coming out of it is a stagnant pool full of algae.

Having a big successful over the top flag waving party requires organization, planning, and competence. Those are in short supply among our current administration.

There were great celebrations all over the country just not in DC.

Trump can sense when an entity is no longer strong enough or lithe enough to evade predation. He did it with that white elephant, the Grand Old Party, whose salaried employers never saw him coming, even when he was there, and whose ruins he now bestrides. The question is, Can he do it with American democracy?

Trump does have a few legitimate talents, and unfortunately he uses them to bad ends.  He really does have an amazing smell for weakness, and that's one reason his nicknames usually stick to people and sink them, while others who try to mimic him without having his sense of smell look silly.  He also innately understands how sick people are of performative ceremonies, to the point that they'll prefer earnest nastiness over performative decorum.

His talents are an ability to sense weakness, a complete lack of shame, the ability to deceive large numbers of people, and the ability to escape the consequences for moral and criminal violations.  I don't know how you could put those to good use.
