I was reflecting a bit on how ordinary and business as usual this election was which contrasts a bit to the constant drone of Russian Propaganda-type hysteria about how the US is tearing itself apart and is on the verge of failure being echoed throughout the international media (alt media?). Ok maybe not constant but I do see it popping up from time to time.

I mean the Secessionist Texas nutcase got 1.3% of the vote in the Republican Primary, which is his normal total. But maybe if Hillary had won he would have gotten 10% or something.

So the Democrats got about 1 million votes when they usually get 500,000 in the Primaries. But the Republicans still got 1.5 million so still 60%. I don't think team Red has much to fear in the statewide elections. I suppose a few State Legislature and US Congress seats might be in trouble.

I read once that all Scotch is aged in used vanilla oak Bourbon barrels.

They could revoke the president's statutory authority to level these tarrifs, but they won't because they're gutless cowards.

Perhaps this - if true - is intended to encourage them to use their positions of influence to act on their opposition to the tariffs.
