The Detroit Free Press is running a series of articles about the best 100 songs from Detroit artists.  The voting is over, but the ballot is still available.  I'm curious which ones the Languideshians would pick as the 10 best from the list.  My choices (in no particular order):

Chain of Fools - Aretha Franklin
Fever - Little Willie John
One Nation Under a Groove - Funkadelic
No Fun - The Stooges
Elected - Alice Cooper
Without Me - Eminem
Where Did Our Love Go? - The Supremes
Money - Barrett Strong
Inner City Blues - Marvin Gaye
Get Ready - The Temptations

So many great choices in there, I feel bad about having to leave off The White Stripes, Jackie Wilson and John Lee Hooker just to make it to ten.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Well you have an abundance to choose from at least.

I tried to think of any Edmonton-based artists, and couldn't.  I hit up google, and the only name anyone might recognize would be kd lang.

Even Winnipeg does better than that, being able to claim Neil Young, The Guess Who/BTO, and Crash Test Dummies.
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

Aeretha?

Sounds like the name of a generic fantasy continent or world.

"If you can play a guitar and harmonica at the same time, like Bob Dylan or Neil Young, you're a genius. But make that extra bit of effort and strap some cymbals to your knees, suddenly people want to get the hell away from you."  --Rich Hall

Don't let me be the one to stop you from putting together your own list.
