in 10th grade, when I was jingoistic, I submitted a political rant paper that, among many other things, argued jimmy carter was a traitor because he gave up the panama canal. the teacher read my paper to every one of his classes and had a full discussion on it.

Congrats?

You peaked early.

Doesn't this story mean that Jimmy Carter is perhaps the worst man (besides Andrew Jackson) to be the US President?  He's trying to deliberately cause the extermination of an entire species from this planet. :(

Sometimes you get lucky and kill off a species that really deserves it.  Americans and Canadians killed off the Rocky Mountain Locust and nobody knows how.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
