Doesn't fix reload speed, but fixes a lot of other time wasters.  Thanks!

One thing I really like about XCOM 2, as opposed to Long War, is that failure is an option.  I failed 4 missions on Commander Ironman campaign, had a couple of really painful losses of soldiers, but I'm still on track to win the game.  Games that require 100% mission success rate, like Long War, are badly designed games.

FunkMonk

Yeah. I've evaced my squad out of missions because it was plainly obvious I was going to lose more than I would gain. Failing missions is usually fine because you can just win the next one and still be on your feet in the strategy layer.

I am completionist, which is why my rag tag soldiers call me old blood and guts. :P

You butcher
Actually only lost Alci so far in this latest play through of Languish members. And that was on first mission

Keeps crashing on one particular mission. Sigh.

Scipio, try the new first Major patch for XCOM 2, live since an hour or so from the time of this posting. The game should update itself automatically through Steam.

Fixes performance, balance, gameplay, graphics and multiplayer.

Since that patch, when I go into shooting mode with a unit, the first possible target selected is the one with the LEAST chance to hit, not the most :frusty:

Any way to change that somehow? Annoys the hell out of me

Yeah, that patch seems to have broken more things than it fixed.  The rotate camera buttons also seem to be reversed, which I still can't get used to.  I always have to rotate the camera three times, because I do it in the wrong direction the first time.

Having already beaten the game on Commander Ironman, I decided just for kicks to see if a squad mostly made up of banzai rangers can work.  The typical squad composition is 4 rangers, one specialist, and either another specialist or a psi operative.  Grenadiers and sharpshooters were never used at all.  To avoid cheating, I selected Commander Ironman difficulty again.

Surprisingly, it's a rather strong configuration.  You'd think that you're going to be losing people regularly due to often being out of cover, or due to triggering another pod while charging with a sword, but that hasn't really happened.  I've only ever lost two rangers, and both of them were very inexperienced.  XCOM 2 is all about wiping out enemies at first connect rather than surviving a protracted firefight, so this is probably why this works so effectively.

Finished my batshit rangers game, the final mission was a cakewalk.  Now time for the ultimate challenge:  Legend Ironman.  Two missions in, six of my nine starting soldiers are dead.     Probably time for a restart.

Scipio

Damn. I'm nowhere near experienced enough to kick that much ass.
