I am getting a little tired of all the bizarre conspiracy theories trying to act like doing anything to help the poor and not give unlimited power and resources to the rich is some kind of evil act that will destroy all of civlization. These people really have no shame. They must think we are all brain dead idiots.

This is basically what Facebook is these days.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Marketing gone bad probably. Someone highlighted pilgrims and Indians to sell mashed potatoes or something. Like the cokes ads overwriting the Santa tradition... only racist :D

Ironically it is a nationalist myth intended to create unity. The marketing ploy has become a culture war hot spot. But still all the people upset about it due to the genocide thing are mistaken. If you read the proclamations by Lincoln and later FDR which established Thanksgiving for real nowhere are pilgrims or native Americans ever mentioned.
