I usually play games in the living room without sound while watching tv, i like visually pleasing games so it need to be relatively quiet while still being able to run "great" graphics. And on two teachers salaries we aren't gonna spend a fortune on a computer.

The AMD Radeon 390x at 8gb ram could be an option, depending on the price where you live, since you like to play at very high resolution on your tv.
The 290x would be a little faster than the GTX 970 and it has 4gb too.  So, check the prices
Either one of these cards would be great for gaming.

Go to 16gb.  Newer games are 16gb, so they require more memory.  And yes, most games don't use much more memory than 5-6gb, but it lets you run other software in the background without too much of an impact (anti-virus, firewall, music, etc).

I don't know the power supply, but I suppose you did your homework and checked that the db level would be good for you?
The fan seems ok, looking at the specs there seems to be a low-noise adapter, though I don't know if it's included or sold seperately... maybe checked that out, the low decibel rating seems dependant on this.

I'll definitely check the fans before buying (not sure I'm gonna pull the trigger anyway) the ram is something that I'll consider but right now I'll probably hold on getting more than 8gigs, I can always hope for a birthdaypresent sometime in the future

By the way I just bought that same case.  It's a really well-made case, but be warned it's pretty freaking huge.

In hindsight I might have gone with the Define Mini (though then you're looking at a micro ATX board).

Yup, a 256 from a laptop where i swapped it with a combi drive with 110gb "ssd" and 1tb "hdd"

Ended up buying from three seperate vendors and some of the items weren't stocked.
So here's hoping to get all of it.

Didn't get it all in the first place, had to buy ram from another vendor.

And I just learned a 200$ lesson. Don't tamper to much with the BIOS, i got no visual on the motherboard no splash screen only background light on the screen.

Tried to flash the cmos but still no visual, sigh.

2) at the back of the motherboard, pressing ,,Clear CMOS" button
this should work.  If it doesn't, it's not a BIOS setting that went wrong.

If you fiddled with the overclock setting (the voltage specifically), you might have fried something, though it is doubtful, there are security measures for that and in worst case scenario, the computer should have refused to boot and resetting itself to default settings.
