 I always think this about England, especially the North-East

Having said all that I'm not sure there is that much price difference north v south once you're into that type of property. Or that distance matters. It'll be a private plane to Inverness or Wick and a helicopter onto the grounds I imagine <_<

The 25 million price tags is bad enough, but what do you reckon the property taxes on that would be?
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

Assuming its residential, probably £4,500 pa apparently

Edit: It's the heating bill I'd worry about.

It has 13 bedrooms so I guess if you split the taxes and utilities with your 13 roommates it might be manageable.

Maintenance nightmare. :hmm: Midge hell during the summer, cold and drizzly winters. 2/10, elbows too pointy.

On a serious note I hope whoever buys the estate actually runs it like a real business and not just as the owners personal Instagram background when he visits once a year. Aside from the salmon river and deer forest the landscape looks perfect for sheep and some cattle. The historic value of the estate also should preclude someone from just turning the whole thing into a windmill park too.  ^_^  :hmm:

But windmill parks are lovely

But Britain has basically forbidden them I think. You have to come to Texas to start your windmill park.

Is Pride week the same time everywhere?

Here it's this week.  My bartender buddy tells me I'm going to make billions of dollars (I get a percentage of the nightly till).

Its just 3 hours from London to Newcastle. If you're to be a waster and drive up its also quite a straight shoot on the A1.
Where England only really gets dodgy I've encountered is Cornwall/Devon where it'll take just as long to get to whatever village you're heading to as to reach the area.

Incidentally I've got a "Things to do when I'm freaking bored" project in mind of an "Unfolded" map of Switzerland to better represent travel times between dinky mountain towns. The same for the UK could be interesting too.
