Watching John Oliver now and he is claiming there is no statutory paid maternity leave in the US? Is it true? I find it hard to believe.

There is statutory rape though. Which is ironic.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Oh look, an "America sucks" thread.  Haven't had one of these in a while I don't think.

And from Marti, nonetheless!

Marty files a brief on behalf of a client:

"Are those guys really doing this?  I can't believe it!"

There is no federal statutory paid maternity leave. Some cities and states do it though. Yet not every woman in the country moves to those places. Puzzling.

Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

So where's the revolution?

We had one already to keep Europeans from telling us what to do, and we won.  So why the fuck should we let Europeans tell us what to do anyway?

I just find it bizarre. America is the richest country in the world and a lot of politicians use every opportunity to say they are pro-family. So you can't really afford paying your female employees after they give birth to babies? I mean, Poland is not a rich country and neither we are a socialist paradise but we can somehow afford a 20+ week fully paid maternity leave for new mothers (the duration is longer if multiple babies are born).

"They do something different to us, and they are richer than us. How is the two possible at the same time?!!!"

Is this a quotation from someone who has issues with English grammar?

Seems like a cheap and unnecessary shot - Marti's shit was dumb enough. :P

It's a cheap and unnecessary shot if, like a UK Green, you think there is no relationship between job creation, employment, wealth, and loading up employers with expensive mandates.

I meant the writing it in some sort of stereotypical eastern euro speak.

So nothing at all to do with the cheapness or the necessity.  And you're ragging on other people's writing?
