How much money can you get into a briefcase? At least $134 billion.

Imagine that.
And don't expect the Italians to spend it on something useful. It'll probably go to Berlusconi's next facelift or so. :D

Damn you for posting it a minute earlier!

I have newstext, though. :raspberry:
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Wow, that's crazy. I wonder what they were going to do with the money?

Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.

Buy it or make it?
Pay to have it all burned.
I actually almost put that down as a third option, but the culprits are Japanese so it wouldn't make sense.

If it is real and not fake money, you have to wonder whose money it is. If Italy keeps 40% of the sum, someone is short 50 billion.

There is something very bizarre in this story, though I can't quite put my finger on it.

This story is really a cover for the Italians to issue counterfeit bonds.

Why would you counterfeit such large bonds? I can't go to my local branch and cash $500 million bonds and leave before they figure out they are fake.

But then that is also more money than anyone in the world has, so it probably isn't a person either. Maybe a sketchy country trying to get its funds into Swiss accounts? Still, that is so much money there are only a few countries that could be.
