Is there anything comparable to power steering or manual transmission?

Rear-mounted cameras have turned out to be an awesome and useful feature.

Computers, cameras, and other doo-dads are cool and all, but what about the "real" automotive technology, e.g. ICE's, transmissions, etc?  Hybrid-power and other efforts to temper fuel consumption seem to be about it.

And aren't we supposed to have flying cars powered by water by now?  :P

Hell, we're supposed to have flying DeLoreans powered by a Mr Fusion next year.

Ah.  I always park head-in, since to do otherwise would leave me vulnerable to BB's tender mercies.  Gaol, and whatnot.

It was department policy to always back in, so I just got used to doing it.

@Mono: There was lots of innovation in ICE powertrains since the 90s. Lots of driving assistance systems too. Materials got a lot better too (more special steels and alloys, carbon fibre parts).

Next big things will be car-to-car/car-to-X networks, self-driving cars and more electrified powertrains.

It's illegal to park ass first in Canada??

I'd like to know that as well.  But that would be totally consistent with strong-armed Canadian socialism.

I've tried them, but I didn't really find them to be that great.  What do you find so useful about them?
Trying to park evenly in a parking lot with those concrete spacers, especially in a bohemoth like my parents' Tahoe.  The ass is difficult to measure, and the front end is like looking over an abyss.

Jeep, who gives a fuck, it parks wherever I want it parked.  Tahoe is a bit more difficult backing in, and I never park head-in.

Maybe Neil is one of those olds with giant-ass 80's Lincoln Town Car that would take half an hour to park ass-backwards.

You think Siege only listens to Disney pop songs and death metal?  :hmm:
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?
