Soon enough there are three of you in the meadows, like permanently living here. 

Then one year a great white egret turns up, buy hey we're cool, it's after all only a white version of our own dear heron. But even so it makes us slightly nervous.

Cranes breed in the Fens for the first time in 400 years

May 2007. Cranes have been found breeding in the Fens of East Anglia for the first time in 400 years. The huge birds are nesting at the RSPB's Lakenheath Fen nature reserve in Suffolk – a site that was a carrot field until the Society bought it 11 years ago and began its transformation into a square mile of marsh and fen.

We need the Russians over here to sort YouCranes out before it's too late.
