Arik was a great soldier. He definitively made a difference when Israel need it most.
He fought in every war, and became legendary after crushing the Egyptian advance on Sinai in 1973.
Many in my family served under his command, including my father in 1967, before I was born.

But he let me down with the disengagement from Gaza bullshit in 2000.
I was extremely disappointed, Gary Oldman style.
Whatever. He ate too much crap in his life. He was notoriously unkosher.
No wonder he died so young, at 85.
