Therion has a really weird but surprisingly funny and well made record where all the songs are covers (in their trademark style) of French pop songs from the 60s. That one (Initials BB, originally song by Serge Gainsbourg and dedicated to Brigitte Bardot) is one of them. This is another of the more popular ones:

And this is the original song (winner of Eurovision 1965 representing Luxemburg, performed by the absolutely adorable France Gall):

Ex DEO is no longer active, but they had a few good songs :)
Thanks Syt :)

Shame, but better than overstretching the gimmick.

Amon Amarth are pretty big over here, thoguh their quintessential video is probably this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFcgEFrWXaI  :P
very funny, but I think I prefer Father of the Wolf :)

You know, after re-listening to the original, I don't think Therion's version is so bad :D

lol "poupee"

It means doll in French.

It's a term used for voodoo dolls.  I assume it's related to the English word Puppet.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I had seen the video before, but I've just realized after seeing it now that one of the guys that appears briefly on it wears a T-shirt for the 2005 edition of Ripollet Rock, a big festival that has been held for more than 20 years every summer near Barcelona.

Not really, but you could check out Haggard

I was listening to the Tales of Ithiria album just now. The voice at the beginning sounds really familiar. Like maybe from Warcraft or the Krogan guy from ME2.

Edit: I looked up Grunt from Mass Effect. Steve Blum--also voices a ton of stuff like Ohgren from DAO and the English version of Spike Spiegel. I didn't see any music credits. I still think it sounds just like him though.

Also, I've been listening to some of Tarja's solo stuff since it showed up in the youtube recommendations, and honestly I think she really needs a good writer backing her. Tuomas has done better without Tarja than Tarja has without Tuomas.

Their weakest album IMHO.

I love Nightwish's music but man I got tired of the Tarja flame wars in every comment section.

Modern metal really overuses that "power on, power off" dynamic. It made for interesting contrasts when I first heard it, but with dozens if not hundreds(thousands?) of bands using it in every single song, it kind of makes them all blend together.
