:hmm:

Someone else voted for Alanis.

I was going to go with Sarah, but feel Alanis has a more robust and varied body of work.

That's true. Sarah had some nice songs but I don't think I know anything about her post-2003ish.

Everyone with a modicum of taste should pick Mr. Cohen.

Based on what I've heard, the dude can't write a melody to save his life.

Leonard Cohen wins, unsurprisingly.

What we can surmise from this comment is you couldnt identify the writer of a good melody if your life depended upon it.

DontSayBanana

I actually never realized BTO was Canadian.  Regardless, my favorite Canadian group (Enter the Haggis) is not on that list.

Not much to choose from, a lot of the list is bullshit redneck beer rock, so hey.

Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.

I like Alanis, actually, and have her recent output as well. I did end up voting Rush because I grew up with that band and have seen them on every tour since 1982. But there's a few artists on that list I like, Sarah McLachlan, Joni Mitchell...was Triumph on that list?

Leonard Cohen....I don't know. I never got into him much, but i appreciate his appeal to many.

It is true, although she has garnered no votes, Joni is a strong contender. :)
