If anti-matter really matters why do we never hear about uncle matter?

What are the practical applications of antimatter?
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

No idea...but besides this one quality (producing energy when close to matter) anti-matter is identical to matter so what other practical reason could their be for capturing some?

Hard to say.  I'm not conversant in anti-physics or anti-chemistry.
