I won't shed a tear when Karzai gets a bullet to the back of the head.

Yeah, but that will probably have to happen in a Swiss chalet or something.  He's a piece of shit, but he has enough sense to get the hell out before the walls close in on him.

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

And he'll be blaming the US the entire time from the ski slopes.

I voted Assad/Syria because it has a strong rebellion which has been gaining ground fast. Plus Assad has a lot of the international community against him, some giving aid to the rebels. Karzai/Afghanistan is more likely to fall when the US/Allies pull out, which is in a year or two, especially if no troops are left in the country. It will take a while but would seem to be likely if the West pullout leaves Afghanistan with little support, since I doubt the Afghans will have the stomach to fight it out for very long.
