What if a black person does look like a monkey?

Bare with me here. Just a strange legalese thing I've been thinking about.

At the football today I noticed Spurs' Gareth Bale got a lot of monkey chants thrown his way. Huge swathes of the crowd were singing a song about it at one point. Wayne Rooney too is frequently depected as a caveman or an ape. These two men are white so there's seen to be no racist element at play and there is never any issue at all about it. Merely calling someone bad names isn't illegal.
However there was an incident not too long ago with somebody throwing monkey insults at a black player- the guy got quite a heavy sentence (too much imo but...not the point). This was of course racism, the only factor at work was the player being black.

But....what if....there was a black version of Wayne Rooney?
I mean a black player who is a total beast and really does look like an ape-man.
Could "But he DOES look like a monkey!" be a valid defence?

Yes. Strange and potentially dodgy thread. But hey. Its languish.

If you think a black man looks like a monkey you are racist.

OTOH, if you think that a Jew actually IS poisoning the wells you should call the cops. IMHO.
