New HDD - need advice and instructions

I doubt GF can help me, but I'll try anyways:

Instructions for installing Win 7 with Lion say that I need a portable HDD that is formatted MS-DOS FAT.  My portable HDD is FAT 32.  Do you think that is good enough (It's to install some boot camp drivers along with Windows - I didn't have to do that before because previous versions of OS X came with install disks, but Lion was download only).
