Yeah we have been breaking records for heat in the summer and cold in the winter the last couple years. I am really curious if we get another big winter storm this year here, that freakish polar blast at Christmas was really weird as usually winter in this part of Texas (such as it is) doesn't really get going until mid January.

Well we had a weeklong freak ice storm here this week. The carnage it has wrought on the tree branches has been horrific.

This after that weird freeze around Christmas followed by the freakishly warm January. Texas winters are really getting weird these last few years.

Right at 0C most of the day in central Texas but I think this is the last real day of winter this year. 40C temperatures should be here shortly. Oh boy.

A friend of mine has told me of his intentions to sell his house and move to the Dominican Republic to be with his kinda of girlfriend there.  The only problem is she asked to be married so they live together.  Still, it's something tempting.
