I played the electric guitar in high school and into college... in my experience the easiest riffs to learn that sound cool are the opening riff to Smells Like Teen Spirit and the main riff from Smoke On The Water.

For land-based models I believe Armorama is the place to go.
Don't know about aircraft, don't really care for them.
