Walking Dead...
Didn't really like how they played the Rick-going-nuts-on-the-wife-beater, made him look too far off the reservation.  And kinda lame how they glossed over just how crappy the wife beater was...dude deserves to get plugged.  Maybe they'll make up for it in the next episode...but I wasn't impressed.
Agreed.
There was no reason for Rick to pull his gun on the rest of the community.  He restrained himself from pulling the gun on the wife beater and then he points his gun and the person running the community? That was stupid and out of character.
Alphaville at the movie theater (the forty-minute drive one) tonight...projection misfired on Sunday and they cancelled it, which was a letdown.  On the plus side, this is apparently a restored 35mm print, so that's exciting.

I also, strangely enough, haven't seen this; it's an odd one for me to have overlooked during my extended phase a couple years ago of watching almost every movie (up to and during the conversion to Maoism) that Godard directed.  Especially since it was the favorite of my law school cinebuddy (and close friend, whose DVD of Dr. Caligari's Cabinet I've been meaning to return for about 28 months now...:Embarrass:).
No, more like desperation that these people are sort of, turning against him while he's trying to protect them.  Remember that he hinted at something much more drastic before.

How where the turning against him?  They were just telling him to stop beating the shit out of the guy.
Alphaville? Is that a old black and white kinda sorta sci fi noir? Classic cyberpunk/noir.

Yes, that one, very nice. Slow by today's standards, but good film that opened up a whole genre of weird dark cyberpunk movies for me to watch. :)

It's quite the departure from the previous Lemmy Caution movies.
it wasn't a one sided fight and in his mind at the time, he was trying to protect the settlement, and his prior conversations with the mayor were more to the effect that he'd had to leave rather than enforce justice

The conversation with the mayor was about whether Rick should kill the wife beater or simply banish him.  Reasonable people can disagree on that point.  No need to pull a gun on her.
Right. No reason to expect it to be better than the original run.
