Well, I guess I have two sets of 5. The original set and the current one.

1- Metallica - Master Of Puppets
2- Metallica - To Live Is To Die
3- Slayer - South Of Heaven
4- Sepultura - Beneath The Remains
5- Megadeth - Countdown To Extinction

The new set is less heavy, I guess.

1- Bloodlined Calligraphy - Shall We Dance?
2- Arch Enemy - Dead Eyes See No Future
3- Boysetsfire - Release The Dogs
4- From Autumn To Ashes - Miligram Smile
5- Into Eternity - Sorrounded By Night

"All men are created equal, then some become infantry."

"Those who beat their swords into plowshares will plow for those who don't."

"Laissez faire et laissez passer, le monde va de lui même!"

No idea, really. Blind Guardian's Mordred's Song tided me over during my military service; but overall I couldn't think from the top of my head of any metal songs that profoundly influenced me in any way.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

There are metal songs I like, but I don't think any have particularly influenced me.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Stairway to Heaven is great music, but I always failed to understand the lyrics.
It sounds like some medieval celtic thing.

I really hate Kiss, especially that song.

I always liked Ted.

I don't know that any metal song has actually influenced my life, be I guess my favorites, in no particular order, would be:

Black Sabbath:  Paranoid
AC/DC:  Highway to Hell
Deep Purple:  Knockin' at Your Backdoor
AC/DC:  T.N.T.
Led Zeppelin:  Hey Hey What Can I Do

MadImmortalMan

The day I heard my first Dream Theater album for the first time (Images and Words) changed my musical life. Metal for musicians.
"Stability is destabilizing." --Hyman Minsky

"Complacency can be a self-denying prophecy."
"We have nothing to fear but lack of fear itself." --Larry Summers

Brazen

The only heavy metal song which influenced my life was Paranoid by Sabbath, and that's because it resulted in a split lip and cracked tooth.
