People misunderestimated Bush and now we've got Trump. Coincidence?

I thought he was a great governor. That was really the Texas 'era of good feelings' with Democrats and Republicans both cooperating on most issues. Perry and Abbott make him look like a genius.

I was surprised he was so polarizing and unsuccessful as President, particularly with virtually everything I thought he wanted to achieve. His close working relationship with the Mexican government provided an opportunity that never bore the fruits I hoped it would. Which is not to say things went badly with Mexico at all just that more could have been achieved, but I have already talked about that before.

The Minsky Moment

Most of Bush's troubles as President stemmed  from either over-delegating to more ideologically-driven and power-hungry subordinates (DOD political appointees/VP office) or when he put incompetent people in place (Gonzales/Miers/Brownie).

You can't really compare Trump to any non-Trump President, at least not in the modern era.  Other Presidents, no matter how lousy or ethically challenged, at least understood the basics of the job and made some sincere effort to fulfill them.  For Bush in particular, I don't think any rational person ever questioned his sincerity in terms of love for country, respect for its institutions, and the desire to do what was right.

I think all of that is fair.

True enough; no one ever accused Dubya of running for the job because of egotism, I don't think.

While Donald is a political novice and idiot, I don't think it is wise to underestimate the President of the United States :hmm:
yeah, no one is taking into account Phase II and Phase III of the battle plan.  Burn the Congress and blame the Democrats.

I wish I was plowing Ivanka.  :(

She looks incredibly disappointing.

I bet she doesn't even make a sound while being pounded. ARE YOU DONE YET? Sad!

Really? She looks like a squeaker to me.

She looks like somebody who gets real pissy if you cum inside her when procreation is not involved.  And don't even think for a moment I'm going to put that thing in my mouth.

The Republican House Freedom Caucus was able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. After so many bad years they were ready for a win!
