 It is very close to Ken Livingstone's old office when he was Mayor.

Although not near Sir Sadiq Khan's office. We've since moved City Hall from the city centre to a conference centre in zone 3 because it's cheaper <_< Compare with, say the Hotel de Ville in Paris. If I ever, God forbid, became mayor I'd be kicked out after a week having spent the entire budget trying to reclaim County Hall from Shrek's Adventure and the London Aquarium

BTW why is Starmer not at Davos?

Also this new leftie star, the leader of the Greens. He was calling to leave NATO in light of the Greenland stuff. That's too much Corbyn-channelling for me, no way I am ever voting for him.

Greens are usually wrong, regardless of what they say.

I think he's reported to be attending but probably just for last day or so - which I think is how leaders often do it where they'll go for a day.

I suspect that they probably weren't foreseeing that Davos would be centred on this when planning ahead.

And there's been a fair bit of other diplomacy going on. So the Danish Foreign Minister was here on Monday, UK Defence Secretary in Copenhagen yesterday and Danish PM visiting London either tonight or tomorrow ahead of the European Council meeting.

The Greens have always been anti-NATO and broadly supportive of unilateral disarmament.

(Also, until the 90s when it flips, like Corbyn, traditionally very Eurosceptic and there are still elements of that.)

His main strategy appears to be focused on not offending Trump.

That is likely the only viable play for the UK after Brexit.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

The BBC reported that there was no plan for him to attend, but that might change after he leaned Trump is attending. He might dash off to bend the knee.

Or is it? Canada refused to bend the knee and got off cheap. China showed the finger to Trump initially and after a temper tantrum got off cheap. The UK groveled, and the EU agreed to a lopsided trade deal. We see how well the latter is going.

Different circumstances.  The US needs what we trade with them.  The US needs Chinese goods.  Canada and China also trade extensively with others.

I am not sure any of those statements applies to the UK.

Normally, I'd agree with you, but it's become less of an issue when you see Trump doing a lot of damage to NATO and threatening to destroy it completely over Greenland.
