It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Well first of all and more likely than not, either California or Nevada can prosecute criminally and/or a lawsuit can be filed in either state's court.  But more interestingly, there could be federal jurisdiction at least for the criminal part, since it was a crime begun in one state and completed in another. 18 U.S.C. § 3237.

This may be too much of an in-joke for most people, I suppose, but if you ever had any passing interest in anything occult, in particular Goetia/Lesser Key of Salomon, here's a demonic twitterbot that produces endless entries in an imaginary daemonological grimoire:

QuoteThe Lesser Bot is a twitterbot that is writing a machine-generated grimoire, complete with summoning runes, which is timely, given that we're entering the age of demon-haunted computers.

"The Lesser Bot of Solomon offers you endless pages from a text in the style of Ars Goetia and the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum."

Examples:

Quote№ 580 Pastor BAKAAZ, DEMON of:
‣ presumably mercerizing backers
‣ reapportioning highlights

Quote№ 576 Chancellor AGMAHMAL, DEMON of:
‣ mordantly queued litheness
‣ subdivisions

Quote№ 573 Senator SABAZMONUS, DEMON of:
‣ alcoholically positioning cutthroats

Quote№ 571 Councilman BALZILSUM, DEMON of:
‣ presidential ascendancy
‣ whetstones
‣ preventive solos

Today someone jumped in front of a subway train near where I work. Between the sound of body hitting rails and train hitting body, people though it was a bomb or shooter and fled in panic. From written accounts mass screaming and running with some people jumping over ticket barriers to flee the 'threat.' :(

My grandmother was ridiculously beautiful back in the day. The photos of her are disconcerting.

Why would that be disconcerting?

It's just weird since she's always been old to me.

Well yeah I have pictures of my grandparents being all lovey dovey in the 30s. Hell I have pictures of my great grandparents when they were young. Hell I have pictures of my great great grandparents when they were young. His mid-19th century facial hair was quite fetching so no wonder she married him. But the pictures are obviously ancient so I guess that makes it less weird. If they looked like 21st century facebook pics that would be weird.

USA! USA! USA!

We are twelfth? How did that happen?  :hmm:

Reading the blurb, the fact we are cheap and have lots of Sun translates into soft power now? Heh.
