As long as he banged all the babes from that video, he can be forgiven for it.

Ironically, he was the only one NOT wearing pointy ears in that video.

Still, he was a true SF icon at least. A sad day for Star Trek and SF in general.

He lived long and was prosperous. :(

A lot of celebrities did that in the late 1960s/early 70s, though;  Shatner, Nimoy, Keir Dullea, John Travolta, Phyllis Diller and tons of others.  It's what you did to perpetuate your branding, no matter how embarrassing.

That's one of the benefits of being gay - you have a lot of cultural icons in their 30s.

Very sad news about Mr. Spock. :(

Very sad to hear that.  He was a cultural force right up to the end.

"If you can play a guitar and harmonica at the same time, like Bob Dylan or Neil Young, you're a genius. But make that extra bit of effort and strap some cymbals to your knees, suddenly people want to get the hell away from you."  --Rich Hall

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
