This is going to come across as a bit racist, but fuck it.

Every Ukrainian immigrant I've known has been fabulous.

I have nothing against Somalis (to pick one example) coming to Canada, but they do generate a lot of my files.  Understandable given the shitshow of that country.

But we should take every Ukrainian we can get.

Not just a bit.

Why couldn't you have said you welcome them, without having to say you prefer them over people with Brown skin?

We could grand asylum to some.  It needs to be a coordinated move with Europe to grant asylum to all this people.

We are stretching our limits.

I could envision a temporary asylum until some of them are relocated to Europe, since it's an emergency and they risk being deported to Russia.

Never met an Ukrainian immigrant IRL.

Also never met a Somali immigrant IRL.

I'm pretty sure I could notice the difference between the two though...

My best analyst is a Ukrainian immigrant... recruited her right out of college after she interned for me.  Despite being part of a generation everyone thinks is lazy and indulgent, she works her ass off and is a very talented developer.
