I saw this on CNN also.  I am going to believe one army was Cimmerians, and the other Stygians, because nobody will ever unearth any evidence to prove otherwise, and because that would be awesome.

Conan did not need a revenge-based movie origin. He was amoral: he came because he simply wanted to take your women and to take your stuff. He has limits, he's not Evul, he is a natural force. Much like a bolt of lightning. He looks good though , because the world he lives in is corrupt and decadent.
