Darth Wagtaros

The movie itself was nothing special.  I'd have been all over it as a kid, but still recognized it as a forgettable one.

The Backrooms was enjoyable.  THe finale was a bit off.  Otherwise a good atmospheric horror.  Ive enjoyed his work though, so if you don't it may not be for everyone.
Do Mandroids Dream of Eclectic Sheep?

Yeah, the Mandalorian movie was a "stuff happens" movie. It felt quite lazy to me.

Going back to the Stargate thing. I was a huge fan of that (although I preferred Atlantis--(I was bored with the Goa-uld)).

But am i disappointed they are not bringing it back? Meh....it probably would have failed in comparison to the original one anyway. And no Amanda Tapping.

I would have hoped none of the originals came back. Except maybe a one or two episode opener.

Agreed.

It is hard to see how they could continue it given they got to such a super power creep place by the end.
Though towards the start when even the goauld were this genuine threat, the asteroid pointed at earth and all, that was awesome. Could be nice to see a reboot. Maybe work it in with some timey wimey stuff.

Agreed.

I would however make an exception for Jonas. Not because I liked the character but because I think it'd be funny and because at the time I felt kind of bad for the actor. Although now he's apparently some sort of antivax conspiracy nut.

clarkson farm Is back

Funny, he annoyed me on top gear (what little I watched :P ) but I do enjoy his farm show.

Yes. It's good. He does a nice job in showing the importance of very left wing things to his core right wing audience.

Though I am skeptical of this series. He has been part of the silly reaction to asking wealthy farmers to pay a little inheritance tax.

Only saw the first two episodes, and after the first he didn't really mention the inheritance tax stuff.

What left wing stuff has he shown the right wing masses? I guess he's not a climate change denier, that's a plus

He's  gone into environmental conservation and biodiversity, pro local Co ops, anti-corporations, anti brexit,  pro mutual aid and local community building, importance of third spaces, and overall the general plight of the proletarian small scale farmer and importance of the skilled working class.

Around here, we try to foster in family inheritance of farms. Why are you guys looking to have them sold to Chinese interests?

"But I didn't vote for him"; they cried.

HVC

Supposedly it's to tackle the rich buying land as a way to avoid inheritence tax. Ironic given that's basically Jeremy  but they're saying a threshold of a million £

But farmers love to bitch so I don't know :D

The government u-turned on this.

There is an inheritance tax loophole on it. But there was a big gap on who it actually impacts. The Treasury stats were that fewer than 20% of farmers would be affected and a lot were doing this type of tax avoidance-ish behaviour. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs statistics indicated at least 40% would be and it could be over half.

Given the protests and the u-turn, I suspect the DEFRA figures were more accurate.

Although I should caveat all my comments on this sort of thing that while I want to be a good European and have some sympathies with certain farmers, I am fundamentally very hostile to farmers. Cheap food for workers in the cities is good and the goal wherever it comes from and screw the farmers
