I've got it; next deployment: U.S. Army Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program.
What are those blocks strapped to the back of your melon Seeb? C4? Deck of playing card? Pack of smokes?
Glad you made it back alright.

Green one is an IR strobe, so birds can identify my location at night and not drop ordnance on top of my head.
Tan one is a lithium battery pack for my last generation night vision gogles, which work both on IR and Thermo, and includes a long range IR laser for target designation.

Funny. You trying to get me fired?
Next assigment, hopefully, Fort Benning as an sniper instructor.
That would be cool. 3 years without oversee deployments. A little stability for my mini-siege.
Do you guys ever get carpal tunnel syndrome from holding your right wrist cocked down like that all day? :nerd:
Who the fuck let him back in country <_<

US Navy customs. They checked my duffle bags, and printed their seal on my papers.
I had to get a signed memo from my commander saying my combat knife wasn't a war throphy.
Other than that, everything went well.
Welcome back Siegy! Good to see you're still alive

Who the fuck are you?
Welcome back Seigy, time for you to sit back, relax and enjoy some lightweight beer.
Welcome back, and congrats on another successful tour. Your badass credentials are secure at this point (not that they weren't before).
Speaking of badass credentials, did you pick up any more fruit salad?
Wb siege. Hope you haven't given up drinking
I'm confident that Siege did well.
Welcome back Soldier man! Did you teach some unwashed muslim youth about the greatness of a young Hannah Montana?

I love that pic; the fruity, goofball expression says so much about the expansive and unbridgeable cultural divide between civilizations. And then there's the kid.

Where I was, Kowst province, people didn't have tv.
They didn't even know who Barack Obama is.

Do you mean like high end shit?
Nah. This deployment was not that hard.
Everything was long range or indirect fires.
The Taliban have lots of chinese made 107mm rockets.
I only got the standard shit, like the NATO service, Afghan campaign, oversea ribbon, and an ARCOM for end of tour as award.
I've known a couple intel weenie-REMFs (almost always working for JSOC, though) to pick up Bronze Stars out there.
Where the fuck is Kowst province?
Welcome home. Crack open some crappy domestics and have at it, you've more than earned it!

Bronze Stars V?
E-7 and above, meaning all comisioned officers of course, get a bronze star without V as an End of Tour award.
Bronze Stars only count with the V.
The same for the ARCOMs (Army Comendation Medal)
I got 4 ARCOMs, they count for shit without the V.
Of course, you do know I got an SS during my first deployment with the US Army, back in 2007.
I should stop drinking Yuengling Light.
Real infantrymen do not talk about medals.
We get them for just doing our job.
I don't give a fuck about medals.
We get them the day we do not want to remember.

Yeah, right there by the border with the Paks.
The least controlled border in the hole wold.

Good to see you are home in one piece. Hopefully you'll get a stateside job. You've more then done your part on the overseas shit.

Thing is, he loves the overseas shit. It's dealing with mundane modern Western life that's the trouble.
