Just got back from Cuba the other day. At the resort I was at, ,mostly populated by Brits, Canadians and Quebecois, I realized that I am fast becoming a minority. It seems everyone is now sporting tattoos...some seem to have the entire War and Peace, it seems, tattooed on their backs. So my question to Languish is...Do you have tattoos?
Glad it's not just white trash & hipster Americans, then.
Nope, but I don't have some huge problem with tattoos like a lot of the folks around here seem to. :hmm:

You don't exactly have a choice :P
A better question would be: Who's gotten ink since the last time anyone's asked about tattoos? :P

This is the Internet. Anything older than a week is ancient history. ;)
Anyways y'all should be glad I was thinking about Languish as I strolled the Cuban beaches.

Actually that worries me a little.
Negative as again I can't think of anything that I'd want permanently on me.
Yes, and I'm perfect the way I am.

Not really, no.
None, I think Languishites tend to be against them as their affectations aren't fashion or even emotional ones, but 'intellectual' affectations.
I saw one woman who had a cool tattoo of a cat on her back. I heard her saying that the ink was made with her cat's ashes.
Yes, two tattoos.

You wouldn't know fun even as it was tapping you in the face.

See. Point Proven.
I've been tapped in the face - more than enough times.
Got one when I was 16 and "regret" is probably too strong a word, but if I could do it all over again I wouldn't have gotten it. Don't really care enough to get it removed as it's not readily visible (inside forearm) but definitely wouldn't do it again.
No tattoos here.
No.
No, and I don't have any plans to, however I usually like tattoos on other people.

I already qualified as subhuman before the ink, so no loss there.

No tattoos, but I don't abhor them.
L.
if I'd got one 10 years ago I would have picked something i now find to be horribly lame and embarassing. I see no reason to think the same wouldn't hold true 10 years from now if I got one today.
So no.

That's oh so very true for many people. I still remember vividly how a few years ago some guy in his early 20s in a geeky bar I frequently attend proudly showed his buddies a huge tattoo on his back of some kind of Warhammer crap. I wonder what he'll think about it when he's in his 40s.

A friend of mine has an awesome tattoo of the fallout guy on his shoulder. Hopefully that's something that will never grow old.
The kind of thing I probally would have got when I was 16 would be some stupid Japanese writing which I didn't really know the meaning of. :bleeding:
My sister in law got Chinese characters on the insides of her wrists. :yuk:
I joke that the left one translates to "stupid" and the right one to "slut". :)

Yeah, a badly photoshopped picture of a girl with 'water' written on her arm.
Its not quite a comparable situation though really, Chinese writing has this whole thing of caligraphy, lots of characters having deeper meanings, etc....
I dunno about the Chinese but you do sometimes get Japanese people with dodgy English phrases tattooed on themselves. Not too common though since tattooing is tabboo.

There was a real article in the Telegraph about this a while back.
QuoteZhang Aiping, a tattooist at Tattoo 108 in Shanghai, said: "Around 30 per cent to 40 per cent of our customers are choosing tattoos in English letters now. This has happened really suddenly, since the beginning of this year.
"I just did one a few days ago for a footballer at Shanghai Shenhua club. It said: 'I miss u forever'."

Tramp stamps are usually hot no matter what they are, though. :)
Yes, I have three - all closing in on 20 years old. I don't even think about them anymore. Ink is just kind of "meh" to me anymore, like pierced ears. Every now & then I'll see something that I'll kind of like (Tramp Stamp or other "somewhate naughty" place on a quasi-attractive female) or kind of dislike (neck, face), but ultimately tattoos have slipped to about #1,237 on my Give A Flying Fuck List. It's been Done, time to move on to Other Things...

Guy?

Yeah, but only if she's the hottest chick on the planet.
Had plenty of coldest chicks on the planet down there, don't see how a needle could be any different.

A dick tattoo probably doesn't hurt THAT much.
