Since you guys often wonder why I do not think the Catholic church is the best thing since sliced bread, a prominent Polish archbishop just gave an interview where he said:
- the debate on civil unions makes him physically sick,
- an idea to make the first Polish transsexual MP a vice-speaker of the Parliament is insane, and is a reflection of the world going to hell,
- he preferred when controversial MPs included people like Cicciolina (a porn star MP in the Italian parliament) who was "smart and fit", and not homosexuals and transsexuals.
Here's the mugshot of this moral beacon:

Something in his bearing puts me in mind of Bull Connor. Anyone reminiscent of that titan of order and justice must assuredly be a fount of moral insight and social stability.
How dare you call Ciccolina a prostitute? And she is Hungarian, not Italian, thankyouverymuch!

I never said she was Italian - but I thought she was in the Italian Parliament?
What is she up to nowadays anyway?

I guess she is busy being too old to be seen in public :D
BTW I just recently read the review of an interview/story book made with the former employees of the hotel in Budapest which was made for foreign dignitaries in the 60s and 70s.
It rumored that she started her "career" as a young employee there, being allowed to sleep with the patrons in exchange of supplying intel to the secret service.
Found this in wikipedia :
"In 2012, Staller founds the Democracy, Nature and Love Party (DNA), alongside her couple, Luca di Carlo, a criminal defense lawyer. Among its objectives are: the legalization of same-sex marriage, the reopening of the "closed houses", former brothels; a guaranteed minimum wage for the young people; a properly functioning judicial system for every Italian; and the elimination of all privileges that a well-to-do political "caste" owns. The Party is ready to stand for the upcoming elections on 24 February 2013."
Pedrito has some interesting choices when it comes to election time
I'd vote for her.

a properly functioning judicial system for every Italian;
Well, there's a pipe dream for ya.
Hmm, from her pictures online, Cicciolina, barring the breasts, often looked like a man with a bad wig.
You know, even though he believes in all that weird Christianity stuff, it seems to me that this guy has a point regarding the assorted gays.
He's right Civil unions  The State should get out of the Marriage business

That's pretty unlikely, given that it's the state's job to adjudicate them.
That's my whole agenda, to stop adjudicating them.

Well that could never happen. There's no social good in getting rid of alimony and the like.

Sure they can. In fact, the destruction of the Western economies has been based upon it. Nevertheless, I think there's usually some level of value towards the support level of a non-working spouse who allows the working spouse to focus entirely on the development of their career.

With tiny feet.
Who talks about his girlfriend all the time in public.
And she's a screamer in bed.

funny, as marriage has been state-business since the advent of both marriage and state.
