Title: Edmonton in May
Post by: merithyn on January 27, 2013, 06:51:31 PM
Max and I will be traveling to Northern Canada to visit his family for Mother's Day weekend (assuming that weekend works for his mom; he hasn't asked her yet), which is May 10-13. Anyway, we plan to spend that Sunday afternoon and evening, and Monday morning kicking around Edmonton.

Anyone interested in a mini-meet?

EDIT: Date changed to May 17-20 due to conflict with my class.

Since it's been a solid decade since I last sax Max, yes, yes I would be interested.

And since neither Neil and I haven't managed to meet up in the almost 2 years since I moved here, all the more reason.

One complication of course is that it's Mothers Day.

Hire a babysitter and bring the wife along? It's dinner out. How is that a bad thing on Mother's Day?

Were you and Max in a band together?

Max pointed out that I have a final that Monday, so we're switching it out to the next weekend. I get to be in Canada on Victoria Day! :w00t:

Um... what's Victoria Day celebrating, anyway?

Why Queen Victoria of course! :w00t:

I'm 99% positive we'll do something to meet up with you guys Meri.  We don't have plans yet for Victoria Day, but I'm sure we can work something out.

AndI'm curious if Max will say more than the 10 words he said during the long-ago Peace Country Paradox OT Meet-Up...

He's far more talkative now than he was when I first met him eight years ago. He will often say as many as 25-30 words of an evening! :w00t:

Of course, just ask Yi. If you give him a drink or two, he'll even get up and do Karaoke. :D

Dude wouldn't shut his pie hole.  Moving to America has awakened a slumbering giant.
