Title: What to do with some mad money
Post by: Darth Wagtaros on December 01, 2012, 12:26:27 PM
I got a 100$ check as a birthday gift.  Not sure what to do with it.  Working in a library I can get most books through that, I don't really buy a lot of movies and again, can get them through the library.

Should i get a Kindle FIre and eat the last 80 dollars?  Ideas for anything else?  Give it to Toys for Tots?

-take the (wife?) out for a nice dinner
-buy an outrageously expensive bottle of wine, or merely expensive bottle of scotch
-drop it in the tin of a Sally Ann volunteer
-buy a overly-expensive computer peripheral - like a mouse or keyboard
-buy a really nice designer tie (if you ever wear ties that is)
-buy an Apple TV

1.  Buy a knife and run amok on the rapid transit.
2.  Get 100 bucks worth of meth.
3.  Transfer it to pennies and drop it all on the mayor from a rooftop.
4.  Use it to set up a murder for hire scheme.
5.  Get a haircut like the ancient aliens guy.

That's all the constructive stuff I can think of right now.

Well, obviously then you're supposed to use it to buy a whole bunch of back issues of Mad Magazine.  D'uh.

Well honestly all we use it for is Netflix, but for $100 it's totally worth it at that price.

Beyond that it depends how tied into iTunes you are - it can stream all of your iTunes stuff to your TV.  If you have a lot of tv shows and movies downloaded hen again it makes it worthwhile.

If hockey ever starts up again <_< I was going to use the NHL's streaming service and watch all the Winnipeg Jets games via Apple TV.

odd. :D

I dunno.  As a gift, it's pretty mad.  I don't go around handing people c-notes myself.  Perhaps it's different in NY.

Are you an MST3K fan?  You can get ten Rifftrax VODs; or nine Rifftrax VODs and ten short films.
