A new Bond movie is upon us, the series celebrates its 50th anniversary - time for a poll.
Since Goldfinger, the title song has become a staple of the series, with some definitely better than others, regardless of the movie's quality.
Rules: only songs with vocals, no instrumental songs (i.e. eliminating Dr. No, From Russia With Love, In Her Majesty's Service). The Thunderball remake Never Say Never is included, the 1960s/50s versions of Casino Royale excluded. This is about the quality of the songs, nt the movies they're attached to.
All songs can be found on YouTube.
Surely, Goldfinger is the most iconic of the songs (and beautifully spoofed in The Simpsons in the Scorpio episode).
I admit I rather like the Sheryl Crowe/Garbage outings. You Only Live Twice is also one of my favorites (both in movie and song). Live And Let Die, For Your Eyes Only and A View To A Kill receive honorary mentions.
I actually had to look up All Time High because I couldn't remember it at all and realized that in that case the song is possibly even worse than the movie.
My three votes go to Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice and The World Is Not Enogh.
You know my name (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxAm8Y1w6BI), it's Son, Black Hole Son.
Also, you get three votes. :P
Diamonds are forever and The man with the golden gun. Can't decide on a third.

What?
Didn't realize Shirley Bassey did three of them.
I only know goldfinger, so goldfinger it is
I think Nobody Does It Better is the best song, but I don't think it's the best Bond song.
I'm torn. Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die and The World Is Not Enough are favourites.
I like the new one a lot. A perfect, louche torch song.
I can't believe Live and Let Die doesn't get more love.

I know there's nekkid women floating around and all, but you should still listen to the intros too.

Alas, Bond didn't use the GNR version.
Null vote, I prefer the soundtrack to On Her Majesty's Secret Service, I know there's a title/theme tune, but it's not sung so is outside Syt's poll.
Oh and Diana Rigg () outweighs any Lazenby taint. :bowler:

It's the only one I really know, so I voted for it. Although I prefer the Guns n Roses cover.
Cornell knockes it out of the park. Second is Nancy Sinatra You only Live Twice.

and the Craig Bond movies are the best of the lot too. Far superior to the rest.
Instead of voting, I looked up naked pictures of Eva Green.

I totally agree. Daniel Craig definitely gives the proper edge to the character. Fucker has a license to kill, and fucking uses it with extreme prejudice.

Maybe Casino Royale. Quantum of Solace: :x
QuoteA View To A Kill - Duran Duran (1985) 6 (12.5%)
Once again, a reminder of Languish's substantial homosexual population.

Given that it was unlikely our out homosexuals vote for it - what are you positing? :)

That Duran Duran is a well-known code for faggitry.
Don't look at me. I voted for Shirley.

Maybe when Craig smacks Moneypenny on the ass. Or M.

I don't think Lazenby is a taint at all - he gave a great performance. Unfortunately his agent talked him out of a multi-movie deal on the series. :(
My preference is:
Connery
Lazenby
Craig
Moore
Brosnan
Dalton

I agree that Lazenby's Bond is badly under-rated.
Live and Let Die, Nobody Does it Better, and Goldeneye. Tina

What?
Vocalist of Soundgarden. I liked their song for Avengers much better, though.
Goldfinger, Live and Let Die, and You Know My Name.
Skyfall's grown on me a lot. One of my favourite Bond themes now.
Though, as someone pointed out, only a girl from Norwood could make Skyfall rhyme with crumble
Goldfinger for sheer brassiness and for defining the very idea of a Bond theme song
You Only Live Twice for integrating perfectly with the action.
Goldeneye because it's freakin' Tina Turner.
"You Only Live Twice" is my favorite (probably my favorite Bond film as well)
Followed by "Goldfinger" and "Goldeneye".
