Tokyo is fun, interesting and filled with great eateries and nice people. It's way too big, though. :P
If I can deal with Seoul, I can deal with Tokyo.

having been there I can with complete confidence assert that Toukyo is not too big, it is one of those places on the planet that would most assuredly benefit from being bigger; space is somewhat at a premium there.
I should've added, for my taste. No, as it is it can definitely not be any smaller.
Tokyo is nice, though not too much special on the tourist side of things.
Take me with you...
HAve fun. Wish I could go. Don't be stepped on by any giant monsters.

weird. i found a new touristy thing/place to go, weekly, for 3 years
There are certainly things to do. But not much that is really "WOW! AMAZING!", I've mostly done Tokyo (in a tourist sense, it still holds a lot in a weekend fun sense) except for the Sky Tree and Tokyo tower. Kansai is the better tourist area IMO.

Tokyo Tower is okay, I guess. It's just a tower. Hard to fuck that up unless it falls down or something.
The view apparently sucks these days too with all the tall buildings around it. Foreign tourists still like to go there though for its frequent appearances in Japanese anime and movies and the like. I fancy a look sometime, not top of my list though due to it just being a tower.
For good views the best place bar the sky tree (I wonder if tickets are available yet...) is the Tokyo government building in Shinjuku.
TBH I barely remember it. We showed up, went to the observation deck, came back down, resumed doing all the things USN people do while "out in town." At some point I ended up with a sword, so there's that. It's just a tower. I recall looking for where the ship was piered up (over in Yokohama) and there were some clear block things in the floor you could see through, but the view doesn't really stand out much.
